Shattered World

Fly away my love do not let the evil world catch you.
Run. Rest not for you know not what they can do.
There is no time to mourn cry not your sorrowful tears.
No sight to see only visions haunt to untrue fears.

Bleed not from wounds held fast from long ago.
It is a case undone, left behind. Oh, such an empty soul.
I cannot fathom this world of terror where evil grabs the night.
How have we fallen so far below trading many wrongs for right.

They come. Hiding and walking on eggshells, no longer can I bear the dark.
Bring me light, give me hope, give me love if only just a spark.
Run. Run. The door comes crashing in. Splinters shattering my life, now gone.
And as the world settles into darkness, “JESUS,” I scream. My life slowly drags on.
